A Grenadian transplant, Avril now lives in Tucker, GA, with a madly tolerant husband. Together they raise an eccentric daughter who’s pretty meh about reading and school. Avril’s earliest memories of reading revolve around discussing the plot points of Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys with an equally book-minded mother.


Always in love with the written word, Avril finally decided to do the writing in August of ’09 and never looked back. She’s been nominated for numerous awards, including Best Author, Best series (Brooklyn Sinners), and Favorite All-Time Author. In 2013 Avril won Evernight Publishing’s Reader’s Choice Award for the LGBT (Male/Male) category. Recently she took home the Golden Ankh award for best Male/Male romance for her bestselling novel, Sinner’s Fall.


Addicted to cake, the ID Channel, and the UFC, Avril writes Gay and Erotic Romance with happy endings; she remains a believer of love in all its forms.

    I really adore Avril Ashton's work, so it's probably no surprise I loved this book as well. It was great to finally get Dutch's story and see why he made certain choices in other books. Well worth the wait. I am chomping at the bit for Stavros's story. I love how different her work is from others in the genre. If you're looking for a light read--ha ha ha--don't read Ashton's work! But if you love intense, burning love with a whole lotta messed up, she is your gal. A big favorite of mine, so that gives you a clue what I'm into. ;) A really great addition to the series.

    I'm enjoying this series. It's got a lot of emotion and it's super hot. But this one was way longer than it needed to be. There was too much back and forth with no additional information from 10% to 40% of the book. Also, there are a lot of editing errors and typos. Even some references to the wrong character and their history in a couple spots.

    Overall, 4/5 because the heat level is high and the overall story is a good one.

    Finally, we get to find out what drives Dutch and how he turned himself into the cold blooded monster that he is. I love getting immersed into this dark and brutal world that Avril Ashton has created. The story arc has carried through three series, with recaps woven into the narrative of the newer stories without missing a beat. Technically each series is standalone, yet I can't imagine not reading the prior series or knowing the history behind each character.

    Dutch and Patel's story is very complex and trying to get them back together is often violent and frequently brutal. Not just physically but emotionally too. It also comes out in the hot and heavy, rough and nasty sex scenes. And there's quite a few! The stories aren't everyone's cup of tea. For me, it's just the right levels of depravity. I like reading some darker stories and Avril Ashton knows how to deliver.

    As the series title promises, many threads are being tied up and behind the scenes details are revealed. We get to see a number of characters brought in from previous books. Syren Rua has a big role and Elias and Lucky have some scenes. It won't matter too much if you started this series first but it's enjoyable if you've read them all. Renzo's story is next and I'm guessing we'll get Kyo in a book sometime. Can't wait to dive into the next one.

    This is another step in the two related series about drug kingpins and the men who are supposed to be going after them. Unfortunately, every single one is connected to the others with sometimes very long histories. I'm finally getting a feel about Dutch/Dane/Hunter.....He's a good bad guy running an underground organization that helps and hinders. Nothing is black or white in his life because there's so many threads of grey...between his family and the group that tries to control him....It's a very complex story and if you haven't read from the very beginning books in the " Run This Town" series starting with X and his Russian you will be confused. Ms Ashton is an extremely talented writer and her stories are top notch.

    Let me first start off by saying, I really love this Author! After reading the “Brooklyn Sinner” series and the “Run This Town” series. I was ecstatic to start the “Loose Ends” series. But, this addition, even though still a great book—I find myself stopping and putting it down and picking it back up. At times, I found myself comparing it to all her other books! That’s not a bad thing—I just felt like I wanted more, and didn’t get it. All I got was violence and bunch of tough guys feuding with each other. I’m still going to patiently wait for the next book, and see where it goes from there.

    I've always said that I have an abusive love affair with Avril Ashton's writing. Very few authors can shatter me and put back together like she can. This books is no exception. If you're already a fan than you won't be disappointed. If you're new to her writing I suggest you start at the beginning of her Brooklyn sinners series because you need to have that background to survive the rest. This woman knows how to pull at your heartstrings with deadly characters that only know how to love fiercely and with an all consuming raw passion. The anti heroes that you want to see succeed no matter how bad they are because what they're willing to do for love makes them beautiful. Sex, love and mayhem are her specialty. I envy the reader that's gets to experience her stories for the first time. But, I cannot stress enough that her series should be read in order as these sometimes unsuspecting band of brothers seem to intersect in each other's lives often. Reading her books always leaves me wrecked and sated. Just like her characters. It's always a bumpy ride but, well worth the journey.
